Project Management 

As one of Western Canada’s largest General Contractors with specialized capabilities in residential mid & high rise construction, we offer our clients reliability and diligence from planning to occupancy. DBD is capable of building projects that range in size from $1 million to $250 million multi-phase developments.

Our approach:

  • Using in depth knowledge of the building type, DBD assists developers to control the design to effectively meet their cost pro forma; developers have complete control over the design of the project and DBD’s role is that of a cost advisor

  • By providing up to date cost budgets, developers can have a greater level of certainty in construction costs before applying for a Development Permit

  • We will work with the design team to assist them on decisions affecting constructability in their designs

  • After several pricing iterations and toward the end of the working drawing phase, the Developer will be offered a fixed lump sum contract for construction

  • Subcontractor management

Change order management

DBD leads the industry in value added Construction Management (CM) services in Western Canada.  Our goal is to bring our construction experience to the table to assist developers to make sound decisions to achieve their financial objectives.  We have experience working with multi-phase CM projects ranging from one million and up in construction value.

We offer the same level of pre-construction services to our Construction Management clients as we do to clients choosing different contract delivery methods.

As a Construction Manager, DBD performs the following services:

  • Scheduling

  • Quality control

  • Safety management

  • Trade Contract  management

  • Status reporting

  • Change order management

DBD has experience in Design-Build projects that bring entire projects together – from overseeing consultants right through to occupancy.  The successful delivery of a Design-Build project is anchored in our ability to:

  • Bring solutions to the table with respect to innovative construction methods and materials, expertise with scheduling and budgeting, and ultimately deliver the project to the marketplace

  • Work with all stakeholders – developers, architects and trades to deliver a project that meets functional, design and environmental needs, all within the cost parameters of the development.
